Pyongyang, June 14 (KCNA) -- A plenary meeting of the Central Committee of the Chondoist Chongu Party took place here on Tuesday. It was attended by members and alternate members of the Central Committee of the Chondoist Chongu Party, officials here and from local areas, and officials of the Central Guidance Committee of the Chondoist Association of Korea. The meeting supported the Juche-based line and policies for national reunification set forth by supreme leader Kim Jong Un at the Seventh Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and discussed measures for implementing them. Yun Jong Ho, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Chondoist Chongu Party, made a report to be followed by speeches. The reporter and speakers said the Chondoist Chongu Party fully supports the line and policies for national reunification set forth by Marshal Kim Jong Un at the Seventh Congress of the WPK, noting the line and policies fully reflect his firm faith and will to build a reunified power on this land without fail and serve as a great programme for reunification common to the nation. They recalled the joint conference of the government, political parties and organizations of the DPRK was held to carry out the policies set forth at the Seventh Congress of the WPK, at which an appeal to all Koreans was adopted. Noting if a nationwide great meeting for reunification is held in the run-up to the 71st anniversary of the liberation of the country this year, it will provide a springboard from which to bring about a great turn and leap forward in the efforts for ensuring lasting peace of the country and repairing the north-south relations, they said they would take the lead in the efforts for realizing it. The south Korean authorities should not persist in sycophancy towards the U.S. and confrontation with the compatriots in the north but respond to the patriotic and constructive proposal of the DPRK with an honest and sincere approach, they urged. They called on various political parities, organizations and personages in south Korea to turn out in the patriotic movement for opening up a new chapter for peace and independent reunification of the country. The plenary meeting adopted a relevant decision and agreed to send letters to south Korean organizations. |
