Two Schoolgirls Remembered in S. Korea
Pyongyang, June 15 (KCNA) -- There took place an event on June 13 for honoring the memory of two schoolgirls Sin Hyo Sun and Sim Mi Son in Yangju City, Kyonggi Province of south Korea, where they were mercilessly killed by an armored car of the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces 14 years ago.

Attending it were ten odd civic and public organizations in south Korea including the committee for building a monument to the memory of Mi Son and Hyo Sun, the People for Achieving Peace and Reunification and the Confederation of Trade Unions.

The participants honored the memory of the schoolgirls, staging a demonstration from the entrance to the village to the scene of the crime.

Speakers said that the GIs who drove an armored car over the two schoolgirls to death that day in 2002 have not been punished due to the unequal south Korea-U.S. Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA).

They pledged to carry on the struggle to probe the truth behind the killing of the two schoolgirls, punish those responsible and make the SOFA abrogated.

The participants moved to the Kwanghwamun plaza in Seoul and set up an incense-burning altar of citizens at which they held a candlelight rally for honoring the memory of the two schoolgirls.
