Nigerian Body Observes Anniversary of Battle in Pochonbo during Anti-Japanese Armed Struggle
Pyongyang, June 15 (KCNA) -- The Nigerian National Committee for the Study of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism posted an article titled "Flames in Pochonbo" on its website on June 1 to mark the 79th anniversary of the victorious battle in Pochonbo in Korea commanded by President Kim Il Sung in the period of the anti-Japanese armed struggle.

The article introduced the battle in details and said:

The battle in Pochonbo was a great event which disheartened the Japanese imperialists that styled themselves "emperor" in Asia.

The battle heralded the dawn of national resurrection as it instilled into the Korean people optimism and conviction that Korea was not dead but alive and that they could liberate the country without fail if they fought.

The liberation movement was activated in Korea and, particularly, the young people became increasingly enthusiastic to join the anti-Japanese guerilla army after the battle.

The Korean people upheld Kim Il Sung as the leader of the nation and savior of the national resurrection with the firm belief that he would certainly liberate Korea.

They finally saw the liberation of Korea on August 15, 1945.

Flames in Pochonbo demonstrated before the world the firm will of the Korean revolutionaries to start and advance the revolution with arms.
