Choe Hong Hui Remembered
Pyongyang, June 15 (KCNA) -- A memorial service took place at the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery in Sinmi-ri Wednesday on the occasion of the 14th anniversary of death of Choe Hong Hui, former president of the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF).

Present at the ceremony were Ri Yong Son, president of the ITF, Chang Ung, honorary president of the ITF, a Taekwon-Do delegation led by Leong Wai Meng, vice-president of the ITF, those related to martial arts, bereaved family members, Kim Kyong Ho, chairman of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee, officials concerned, Taekwon-Do instructors and coaches.

Wreaths in the names of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee, ITF, International Martial Arts Games Committee and the Agency of Overseas Korean Affairs and bouquets were laid before the grave of Choe Hong Hui.

The participants paid silent tribute to Choe.

ITF President Ri Yong Son made a memorial address.

He referred to the feats Choe performed by founding the ITF and steering the work for developing orthodox Taekwon-Do into scientific martial arts and disseminating it throughout the world.

Choe's desire to contribute to building a peaceful world with Taekwon-Do will surely come true thanks to the joint efforts of all Taekwon-Do practitioners, he added.
