He said:

June 15 marks a significant day in the history of the Korean people's protracted struggle for reunifying the country divided by foreign forces.

Leader Kim Jong Il provided the north-south summit for the first time in the history of the Korean people's division in June, 2000 and made sure that the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration, a landmark for Korea's reunification, was adopted.

He provided another historic north-south summit in Pyongyang in Oct. 2007 and made sure that the October 4 declaration, a programme for implementing the June 15 joint declaration, was adopted.

Thanks to the adoption of the historic June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, the day is to come earlier when the Korean people's dream about the building of a reunified power is to be realized.

However, the south Korean authorities totally denied the north-south joint declarations and stamped out all the successes registered in the June 15 era of reunification.

They drove the north-south relations to a catastrophe with their extreme moves for confrontation.

The U.S. and its followers are only seeking their interests, irrespective of the prosperity of humanity.
