16th Meeting of Steering Committee of COSCAP of NA of ICAO Held
Pyongyang, June 16 (KCNA) -- The 16th Meeting of the Steering Committee of the Cooperative Development of Operational Safety and Continuing Airworthiness Programme (COSCAP) of North Asia of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) was held here on June 15 and 16.

Present there were Kang Ki Sop, general director of the General Bureau of Civil Aviation of the DPRK, and officials concerned, Jin Yibin, executive chairman of the 16th Steering Committee of the COSCAP of North Asia of the ICAO, Michiel Vreedenburgh, chief of the Implementation Planning and Support Section (Safety) of the Air Navigation Bureau of the ICAO, Wayne Chapin, chief technical adviser of the COSCAP of North Asia of the ICAO, a delegation of the Civil Aviation Authority of Mongolia led by Deputy Director General Batchuluun Daadankhuu, members of a delegation of the Civil Aviation Administration of China led by Xin Tianhe, Javier Vicedo, representative of the European Aviation Safety Agency in Beijing, and other foreign guests.

Kang Ki Sop said that the civil aviation is greeting a new heyday in its development in the DPRK under the guidance of supreme leader Kim Jong Un, adding that his bureau would further boost the country's civil aviation.

Jin Yibin said that the meeting provided the member countries of the north Asian region with an opportunity to exchange successes and experience gained in the work to prevent the flight accident by shaping the plan for the state's safety and establishing the safety management system.

The meeting reviewed the activities of the 2015-2016 cooperative development program and discussed and decided the technical issues arising in sincerely fulfilling the responsibility and duty of boosting the regional cooperation among member countries and observing the standard requirements of the ICAO including 2016-2017 flight operation and aviation serviceability.
