Maltreatment of Old Persons Rampant in S. Korea
Pyongyang, June 17 (KCNA) -- Maltreatment of old persons is getting serious in south Korea.

Cases of old person abuses last year increased 13 percent over that in the year before, according to information available from the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

Many aged persons are reportedly dying or committing suicides while living a lone life after being forsaken by their children.

The number of such old persons reaches tens of thousands every year.

Maltreatment of the aged has become an incurable illness in the south Korean society under Park Geun Hye's unpopular rule.
