Earlier, the participants laid a floral basket and bouquets before the statues of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il in Chongjin City and paid tribute to them.

Speeches were made at the meeting of the captain and crewmen of the Cambodia-flagged ship Everbright.

The speakers said that Kim Jong Il developed the WPK into the organizer and guiding force of all victories of the Korean people by carrying forward the idea and cause of the President.

Kim Jong Il turned the DPRK into an invincible political and military power, bravely meeting all challenges of the imperialist allied forces and resolutely smashing their moves to isolate and stifle the DPRK with his original Songun revolutionary leadership, the speakers noted, adding:

World-startling miracles are being registered in the DPRK every day under the wise guidance of Marshal Kim Jong Un who is successfully carrying forward the idea and cause of the preceding leaders.

Noting that Kim Jong Un's election as chairman of the WPK is the greatest happiness and honor of all the Korean people, the speakers expressed belief that only victory and glory will be in store for the Korean people.

A letter to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting.
