An article titled "June 19, significant day for DPRK" said that Kim Jong Il developed the WPK into the party carrying out the idea and guidance of the leader, the party enjoying absolute support and trust of the people and the invincible and iron-willed party.

He pursued the original Songun politics in all fields in the arduous period when the imperialists went more reckless in their moves to stifle Korea-style socialism, thereby defending socialist Korea and peace and security of the world, the article noted, adding:

All the successes achieved by the Korean people for the past decades are the fruition of his leadership.

Another article said he made indefatigable efforts to achieve the reunification of the country, the cherished desire of the Korean people.

Thanks to his bold patriotic decision the north-south summit was held in Pyongyang in June, 2000 which resulted in the adoption of the June 15 joint declaration, and the October 4 declaration was adopted in 2007.

The joint declarations made it possible to bring earlier the day when the Korean people's dream of achieving the peaceful reunification and building a reunified power comes into a reality, adorning a brilliant page in the Korean history.
