Present there were Pak Pong Ju, Choe Ryong Hae, Kim Ki Nam and other senior party and state officials, the chairperson of a friendly party, officials of working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, officials of ministries, national institutions, industrial establishments, co-op farms and universities in the city, working people, youth and students, overseas Koreans and the chief of the Pyongyang mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front.

Present there on invitation were diplomatic envoys and staff members of foreign embassies and members of the military attaches corps here and foreign guests.

Cha Hui Rim, chairman of the Pyongyang City People's Committee, in his address said that more than six decades have passed since a war ended on this land but the U.S. imperialists have persisted in their moves to stifle it by illegally keeping south Korea under its occupation, far from drawing a due lesson from their disgraceful defeat in the Korean war.

He condemned the U.S. imperialists for getting frantic in their moves to ignite a nuclear war after introducing huge forces and war hardware into south Korea in the wake of their outrageous hostile acts of fabricating the unprecedented UN "resolutions on sanctions" against the DPRK this year alone over its steps for bolstering up nuclear deterrence, choice for self-defense, and its just and legitimate satellite launches.

They went the lengths of perpetrating such hideous provocation as examining the flexibility of their hideous "beheading operation" aimed to bring down the headquarters of the Korean revolution and "social system" of the DPRK, he said, adding:

Such reckless provocations made by the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet forces to escalate the confrontation with the DPRK in utter disregard of the changed situation and the trend of the times are hardening the will of the service personnel and people of the DPRK to take a thousand-fold revenge upon the enemy.

The speaker underlined the need to turn the stronghold of the enemy into sea in flames and thus root out the source of war and certainly achieve the historic cause of national reunification if the U.S. imperialists and the puppet group of traitors encroach upon the dignity and sovereignty of the DPRK even a bit despite its repeated warnings.

Representatives of workers, agricultural workers and youth and students in their speeches renewed their resolution to blow up the bulwark of aggression with matchless arms of Paektusan by carrying forward the tradition of great victory and bring the most miserable end to the aggressors so that there would be no one left to sign a surrender document and thus bring another July 27 of the final victory without fail.

Then followed a mass demonstration.
