Talks Held between DPRK Foreign Minister and Special Envoy of Namibian President
Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- There were talks between Ri Yong Ho, foreign minister of the DPRK, and Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, deputy prime minister and minister of International Relations and Cooperation of Namibia who is a special envoy of the Namibian president, at the Mansudae Assembly Hall Saturday.

Present there were officials concerned from the DPRK side and the party of the special envoy including Selma Ashipala Musavyi, permanent secretary of the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation from the opposite side.

At the talks both sides exchanged views on the issue of invariably developing the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries and a series of other issues of mutual concern.

The DPRK foreign minister said that the army and people of the DPRK elected supreme leader Kim Jong Un as chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea at its Seventh Congress and have turned out as one in the drive for carrying out the decision made at the Seventh Congress of the WPK and for building a socialist power, and referred to the policy and stand of the WPK on the cause of global independence and to the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.

The special envoy said that the DPRK was one of the countries that forged diplomatic relations soon after Namibia won independence, adding that the two countries have historically maintained traditional relations of friendship and cooperation and that Namibia would further develop these relations no matter how the international situation may change in the future.

The special envoy warmly congratulated Kim Jong Un on his election as chairman of the WPK and hoped that the Korean people would thoroughly carry out the tasks set forth at the Seventh Congress of the WPK and thus push forward the building of a socialist power and register greater success in the efforts to achieve the independent reunification of the country.

The talks proceeded in a friendly atmosphere.
