Many Cage-net Fish Farms Appear in Rivers of DPRK
Pyongyang, June 27 (KCNA) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea further encourages the cage-net fish farming, which was commenced on a full scale in 2013.

According to an official concerned, more than 1,000 cage-net fish farms have appeared in rivers and lakes across the country and they are run by an integrated control system and powered by solar and other natural energies.

In the capital city of Pyongyang, 54 cage-nets for fish breeding were displayed in the Taedong and Pothong rivers.

Jagang Province established 47 cage-net fish farms in the Chongchon River and other rivers and lakes and Kumchon County of North Hwanghae Province 24 in the Ryesong River.

Such home-made cage-nets can be seen in reservoirs and lakes in other parts of the country.

The DPRK has directed big efforts to putting pisciculture on a scientific and intensive basis so as to better the citizens' diet.
