The statement accused the U.S. of introducing its B-52H strategic bombers formation and nuclear sub Mississippi into south Korea for madcap nuclear war drills.

The statement branded the U.S. nuclear blackmail as a threat and challenge to all Koreans. It went on:

The U.S. should roll back its anachronistic policy hostile to the DPRK and withdraw its aggressor troops and war hardware from south Korea, properly understanding the strategic position of the DPRK which has ranked itself among advanced nuclear weapons states and facing up to the trend of the times.

If the U.S. persists in nuclear threat and arbitrary practices in utter disregard of the demand of the DPRK, the former will meet self-destruction only.
