The editor of the Angolan newspaper Eme was elected chairman of the committee.

The committee decided to organize political and cultural events such as a remembrance meeting, film show and round-table talks in praise of the revolutionary exploits of the President who made undying contributions to the cause of global independence, with the approach of July 8, the anniversary of his demise.
