MP Nigatu Dagnachew Cherinet, director of the Youth and Sports Department of the Addis Ababa City Administration and chairman of the Ethiopian National Committee for the Study of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee decided to organize political and cultural events such as a remembrance meeting and seminar in praise of the revolutionary career of the President who made great exploits for the times and revolution, on the 22nd anniversary of his demise.
