The university, which was founded and has developed under the care of the great leaders, is the highest seat of training administrative and economic workers. It trains leading cadres for state economic management.

President Kim Il Sung founded the university on July 1, Juche 35(1946) and indicated the road to be followed by it.

He attended its opening and graduation ceremonies and made significant speeches

He also taught officials of the university new teaching methods of our style and led its work.

Leader Kim Jong Il visited the university several times and took steps to bring about qualitative improvement in the university education work as required by the developing revolution and established a well-organized system for training reserve cadres and developed the university into the pedigree establishment for training state economic management personnel.

The university has developed into a party cadre-training center with strong educational and scientific force and a firm material and technological foundation and has successfully fulfilled its duty for 70 years since its foundation.
