S. Korean Workers' Anti-"Government" Struggle Is Just: Rodong Sinmun
Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- The anti-"government" actions staged by the workers in south Korea are an inevitable protest and due condemnation against the misrule and oppression by the conservative authorities, says Rodong Sinmun Friday in an article.

The present chief executive of south Korea made honeyed words during the "presidential election" that she would make "the world where the workers lead a happy life" in a bid to seize power but since she took office, she has pursued only the unpopular rule deteriorating the people's livelihood while bringing profits to the plutocrats, the article notes, and goes on:

The "system of paying salaries according piece rate" pushed forward by the south Korean authorities is a product of such treacherous policy.

The system is, indeed, a horrible trap of death for the south Korean workers as it allows businesses to set the "targets for achievements" unilaterally and cut wages of workers and dismiss them at random by branding them as "those with poor piece rate" when they do not reach the level.

Due to the system, the number of the unemployed in south Korea that exceeded more than 4.5 million is snowballing and the destiny of many workers and their families is being driven into cliff.

It is too natural that the south Korean workers are now rising up in the general strike, denouncing the "targets for achievement" as "the reversed layoff level", and the "system for salaries according piece rate" as the "system of forcible retirement" and the "modern-version slave system."

The dictatorial rule is bound to ruin as it stamps out even the elementary vital rights of the popular masses and arrests social progress and democratic development.
