Ushering in Avenue to Independent Reunification Called for
Pyongyang, July 2 (KCNA) -- It is the steadfast determination of the DPRK to surely hold a great national conference for reunification and usher in an avenue to the era of independent reunification, Rodong Sinmun Saturday says in an article.

The DPRK government, political parties and organizations proposed to hold a great national conference for national reunification on the 71st anniversary of liberation of Korea and organized the north side preparatory committee and sent an open letter to the authorities, political parties and organizations and individual personages of south Korea and overseas as part of practical measures.

Noting that the DPRK's patriotic measure evokes lively response at home and abroad and the international community is following the trend of the situation on the Korean peninsula that has entered a new turning phase and the Korean nation, the article goes on:

Whoever sincerely worries about the destiny of the country and hopes for national reunification will have no reason to deny the proposal of the DPRK.

Now the anti-reunification forces in south Korea insult and deny the north's proposal, branding it as "offensive of united front devoid of sincerity" and "camouflaged peace offensive inciting discord in the south."

However, it is nothing but the last-ditch wriggle of anti-reunification elements being marginalized as bubbles by the strong wave for independent reunification.

Any authorities and politicians of south Korea will have no future unless they resolutely give up sycophancy and dependence on outsiders that they have maintained under the rule by outsiders for more than a century.

If they fail to come to their senses and take responsible option, though belatedly, but obstruct reunification while selling the interests of the nation to outsiders to seek their own way-out, they will never escape punishment by history and the nation, being branded as despicable and sycophants and traitors never to be pardoned.
