Bonakele Majuba, secretary of the Mfumalanga Provincial Committee of South African Communist Party and chairman of the South African Association of Friendship and Solidarity with Korean People, was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee decided to organize a seminar, lecture, photo exhibition and other political and cultural events praising the revolutionary career and feats of Kim Il Sung on the 22nd anniversary of his demise.
