Khmelyov, chairman of the City Assembly and second secretary of the Partizansk City Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee decided to organize political and cultural events praising great exploits Kim Il Sung performed for the Korean revolution and the cause of global independence on the 22nd anniversary of his demise.
