Juha Kieksy, chairman of the Finnish National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea who doubles as international secretary of the Finnish Communists' League, and Pekka Kotkasaari, chairman of the Finland-Korea Society, were elected co-chairpersons of the remembrance committee.

The committee decided to hold political and cultural events to praise the revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Il Sung on the 22nd anniversary of his demise.
