The publication of the July 4 joint statement proved at home and abroad that the south and the north could make an advance in the issue of reunification through dialogue, the statement said, adding:

The three principles of national reunification--independence, peaceful reunification and great national unity--clarified in the July 4 joint statement are embodied in the south-north joint declarations.

The authorities should make all efforts to defuse the military tension on the Korean peninsula and resume dialogue without condition including the south-north military authorities talks.

If representatives and personages in the south, the north and abroad meet to discuss the issue of reunification, it is possible to make an important advance in solving the issue of the Korean peninsula peacefully.

The South Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration will promote and bring to success the August 15 event common to the nation and workers' football game for reunification and take the lead in the efforts to restore the south-north dialogue and exchange.
