The championship was held in Hong Kong of China on July 2 and 3. It brought together at least 130 men and women players from 8 countries and regions including the DPRK, China and Mongolia.

Ri Ji Hyang won a gold medal in the women's 70 kg category event.

Pak Un A placed third in the women's 48 kg category event, An Jae Yong in the men's 60 kg category event and Kim Chol Gwang in the men's 73 kg category event respectively.
