Miguel Angel Villaron, general secretary of the Democratic Workers' Party of Spain, was elected chairman of the committee.

The committee decided to significantly hold political and cultural events praising the sacred revolutionary career and immortal exploits of the President on the 22nd anniversary of his demise.
