The statement urged the south Korean regime to stop such trite slander as "offensive for united front" and "stereotyped action."

It called on the regime to opt for holding a great conference for reunification, though belatedly, and positively ensure exchange by people from all walks of life to this end.

It declared that the U.S. Regional Committee would make positive efforts to form a U.S. preparatory committee for holding a joint conference in solidarity with organizations of compatriots and individual personages in the U.S. who received the open letter from the north.
