The preparations for the opening of the joint conference are making brisk headway amid the growing will and enthusiasm of all the fellow countrymen to open with splendor the great national conference for reunification and effect a drastic turn in accomplishing the cause of the country's reunification with the upcoming significant 71st anniversary of Korea's liberation as a momentum.

The north side preparatory committee was already organized and has begun its activities.

The members of the north side preparatory committee are as follows:

Chairman: Kim Yong Chol, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Jon Yong Nam, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League

Over 50 other people selected from ministries, national institutions, friendly parties, working people's organizations and other social organization and various other fields are acting as members.

The north side preparatory committee will promptly form the nationwide joint preparatory committee in close contact with regional preparatory committees in the future and continue to strive for opening the great national conference with splendor on the upcoming 71st anniversary of Korea's liberation in line with the unanimous expectation of all the Koreans for a radical turn in achieving peace and reunification of the Korean peninsula.
