International Kim Il Sung Prize Awarding Ceremony Held in Russia
Moscow, July 8 (KCNA) -- A ceremony of awarding the International Kim Il Sung Prize to Alexandr Andreyevich Prokhanov, editor-in-chief of the Russian newspaper Zavtra, took place in Moscow on Thursday.

Displayed on the front wall of the venue of the ceremony was a portrait of smiling President Kim Il Sung.

Present there were the advisor to the president of Russia, the governor of Oryol Region, deputy presidential envoy to Central Region of Russia, first vice-chairman of Izvorsk Club, editor-in-chief of the Literaturnaya Gazeta, chairman of the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK, chief of the Section for Korea and Mongolia of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, e former deputy commander-in-chief of the Army of the Armed Forces of Russia and other figures of political and public circles and the military, directors of the International Kim Il Sung Prize Council, the DPRK ambassador to Russia and his embassy officials and a delegation of the Social Scientists Society of Korea on a visit to Russia.

The participants paid tribute to Kim Il Sung.

At the event a decision of the council was read out and a diploma, medal and souvenir were awarded to Prokhanov.

Then followed speeches.

Prokhanov said that he could not repress tears of deep gratitude, feeling as if he were receiving the prize directly from the great Comrade Kim Il Sung.

Referring to the greatness and originality of the immortal Juche idea, he praised the President as the sun as he left brilliant marks not only in the history of Korea but also in the world history. He went on:

As the DPRK holds the President in high esteem it has turned into a powerful country and achieved eye-opening successes. The U.S. dares not provoke the DPRK thanks to his great idea and exploits.
