The message extended sincere congratulations and best wishes to Kim Jong Un and, through him, to the WPK and the government and people of the DPRK on behalf of the CPC and the government and people of China on the 55th anniversary of the Sino-DPRK Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance.

Both sides of China and the DPRK have supported and closely cooperated with each other over the past 55 years on the principle of the treaty and in its spirit and have promoted the cause of construction in the two countries and the steady development of the relations between the two countries, the message said, and went on:

The Sino-DPRK friendship serves as a precious wealth common to the two sides.

It is the steadfast stand of the party and the government of China to steadily consolidate the traditional bilateral relations of friendship and cooperation.

The Chinese side together with the DPRK side has willingness to boost the strategic understanding, promote exchanges and cooperation, continue to develop the bilateral relations and thus bring well-being to the two countries and their peoples.

I sincerely wish the Korean people fresh steady successes in the work of various fields for state development and construction under the leadership of the WPK headed by you.

I hope for the prosperity of the DPRK and happiness and security of its people.
