Korean in U.S. Calls for Successfully Holding Great National Conference for Reunification

Pyongyang, July 13 (KCNA) -- Minjok Thongsin, an internet paper of Koreans in the U.S., on June 30 posted an article written by editorial board member Jang Kwang Son in support of the holding of a great national conference for reunification.

The article said:

The north proposed to hold a great national conference of the authorities in the north and the south and representatives of political parties and organizations and individual personages from the north and the south and abroad before and after August 15 this year. This is drawing great attention of compatriots at home and abroad.

However, the Park Geun Hye regime is openly rejecting the proposal, terming it "propaganda offensive."

This means the complete scrapping of the June 4 joint statement which calls for the great national unity.

The article called on all organizations and individuals aspiring after peace on the Korean peninsula to actively respond to the north's proposal.
