In the message he expressed the belief that the summit discussing and deciding on practical issues for achieving the continental political and economic integration, peace and stability and regional development and prosperity with the "African Year of Human Rights with Particular Focus on the Rights of Women, 2016" as its main theme would register good success amid the active enthusiasm of all the participants.

Reaffirming the steadfast stand of the DPRK to further develop the relations of friendship and cooperation with the AU and its member nations, the message hoped that the summit would be an important occasion in promoting the prosperity and sustainable development of Africa.
