The statement said:

The Panmunjom mission of the Korean People's Army in an open letter disclosed the military provocations committed in the area of the Military Demarcation Line by the U.S. imperialists and south Korean puppet group.

Such military provocations as the "invasion of Mt. Songak", a prelude to the June 25 war in the 1950s, are escalating in the MDL area by the U.S. imperialists and south Korean warmongers.

They turned the demilitarized zone along the MDL into the outpost for invading the north.

Psychological warfare against the DPRK being staged by the south Korean puppet authorities has reached the extremity.

The prevailing grave situation in the MDL area reminds one of the eve of a war.

The open letter of the Panmunjom mission said that it is the invariable will of the DPRK army and people to remove the MDL, little different from a time bomb against the north, as early as possible and ensure durable peace and security on the Korean peninsula and achieve the great cause of national reunification.

It warned that if U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet group unleash the second Korean war, they would certainly meet the most miserable end.
