Residents in Songju County of S. Korea Protest against Decision of THAAD Deployment

| Pyongyang, July 14 (KCNA) -- Residents in Songju County, North Kyongsang Province of south Korea launched a protest action against the decision of THAAD deployment of the U.S. on Wednesday, according to the south Korean internet paper Voice of People. When the puppet group decided to deploy THAAD in Songju County that day, the emergency measure committee of all county people against deployment of THAAD in Songju held a rally with the attendance of more than 5,000 residents and formed a delegation and paid a protest visit to the puppet Defense Ministry. Members of the delegation handed over the protest letter signed by at least 25,000 residents, members of "assembly" and the county head to the vice-minister and demanded the minister clarify the reason behind the decision on THAAD deployment in Songju County. They said THAAD deployment is not for the south Korean people but for defending the U.S. military bases. Noting that the decision will bring immeasurable misfortune to the residents in Songju County, they demanded the withdrawal of the decision. |
