The editorial recalled that the present regime and the U.S. decided to deploy THAAD and confirmed Songju, North Kyongsang Province as a location for THAAD deployment.

THAAD is meant not to protect the people but to defend the U.S. military bases and some military facilities in Phyongthaek, Osan and other places, it said, adding:

The U.S. and the south Korean puppet regime claim THAAD is aimed to cope with the "threat" from the north but it increases tension and poses threat to security in Northeast Asia.

The issues related to THAAD deployment prove that the action for protecting the sovereignty from the unreasonable pressure of the U.S. is presenting itself as the most important issue for social progress and reform.
