General Strike of 100,000 Unionists of S. Korea Declared
Pyongyang, July 16 (KCNA) -- The Construction Trade Union of south Korea held a press conference in Seoul on July 13 protesting against the puppet authorities' brutal crackdown on the labor movement and anti-worker policy, according to Nodong and Segye, a newspaper of south Korea.

Speakers said at the press conference that accidents have occurred at construction sites one after another in recent years, leaving workers dead and wounded as businesses were only keen on gaining more profits.

They accused the Park Geun Hye regime and security authorities of regarding the just activities of the organization out in the drive for winning the vital rights as the target of suppression.

They demanded the authorities stop at once the base acts of trying to tide over the ruling crisis through suppression of workers, and set free those arrested. They also demanded the revision of the "law on improving employment of construction workers" and the institution of a law on punishing man-killing businesses.

They declared that 100,000 construction workers across south Korea would launch a general strike on July 20 to oppose the authorities' suppression and anti-worker policy.
