DPRK Pays Big Efforts to Developing Marine Resources
Pyongyang, July 18 (KCNA) -- A work for conserving and developing the marine resources goes on under a long-term plan in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

According to Kwak Il Hwan, secretary of the DPRK Marine Society, a series of measures were taken to increase marine resources and one of them is to install large-sized artificial fish banks.

A project is now making headway to create fishing grounds around coastal areas with the installation of artificial fish banks.

Meanwhile, signal successes have been made in developing and utilizing the marine natural energy.

A broad vista was opened to develop a large-scale underground ultra-saline water deposit and a progress was made in improving the system of marine observation, analysis and information service.

Researches into the survey of marine minerals are going on in full scale.

It is an important policy of the Workers' Party of Korea to conserve and increase the marine resources and make an effective use of them.
