S. Korean Media Discloses Inequality of Agreement on Sharing Upkeep of U.S. Forces
Pyongyang, July 18 (KCNA) -- The south Korean internet newspaper Oh My News on July 3 in an article disclosed the inequality and illegality of the special agreement on sharing the upkeep of the U.S. forces, according to the south Korea-U.S. "Status of Forces Agreement" (SOFA).

The article said that all the agreements on the military affairs with the U.S. are unequal, but the above-said special agreement is symbolic of the unequal treaties between south Korea and the U.S.

It cited concrete facts about how south Korea consented to offering facilities and areas to U.S. forces free.

Noting that upkeep is paid for the stockpiling and managing shells of the U.S. Pacific Air Force and maintenance of aircraft under the U.S. Pacific Military Command, the article said in this respect the special agreement runs counter to peace and stability on the Korean peninsula and in the rest of Northeast Asia.

It demanded a ban on the implementation of the agreement and abrogation of the unequal SOFA.
