Workers in Ulsan, S. Korea Declare General Strike
Pyongyang, July 18 (KCNA) -- Workers of Ulsan affiliated to the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) declared a large-scale general strike, according to the south Korean newspaper Nodong and Segye.

The July 20 general strike is to be waged by more than 27 500 workers under the KCTU in protest against the Park Geun Hye group's restructuring, retrogressive revision of the labor law and crackdown upon the unions.

The KCTU held a press conference on the general strike in Ulsan on July 14.

It said in its press release that the general strike of the workers in Ulsan on July 20 will be staged together with the strike waged by the trade union of the Hyundai Heavy Industries in protest against the authorities' restructuring.

Speakers said that the coming general strike would demonstrate the people's mindset once again, adding that the Park regime is recklessly enforcing the policy against the workers while going against the people's mindset manifested in the general election.
