Nobody Can Check Advance of Koreans for Independent Reunification: Rodong Sinmun
Pyongyang, July 19 (KCNA) -- Nobody can check the dynamic advance of the Koreans to achieve independent reunification by rejecting outside forces and pooling their efforts, Rodong Sinmun Tuesday says in an article.

It goes on:

It is the consistent stand of the DPRK to achieve national reunification, the long-cherished desire of the Koreans, by weathering the harsh ordeals in the spirit of national independence and great unity.

This time the DPRK initiated a great national conference for reunification and is making every effort to realize it. This stemmed from the patriotic stand to pave the way for improving the north-south relations and achieving national reunification in reflection of the will and aspiration of all Koreans.

The issue of national reunification should be settled from an independent stand under any circumstances as it is the internal matter of the Korean nation.

All Koreans have the strength and wisdom to achieve national reunification.

The proposal of the DPRK to hold a great national conference for reunification is the fairest one based on the transparent independent stand to settle the issue of reunification by the concerted efforts of all Koreans in a responsible manner, not by relying on outsiders.

There is no reason for the south Korean authorities to refuse to respond to our proposal if they have even an iota of national conscience,

National reunification is not achievable by anybody's approval or with anybody's help.

To peddle the matter of reunification, the domestic issue of the nation, here and there and implore outside forces for cooperation is an act of selling off the dignity and interests of the nation.

All Koreans should have the transparent stand of independence that they should worship the Korean nation, believe in its strength and discuss the issue of reunification with compatriots. There will be no obstacle insurmountable in the inter-Korean relations if they proceed from this stand.
