The media said that the south Korean authorities including the "prime minister" visited the inhabitants of the county only to face strong protest by them after the authorities chose the county as the site for THAAD deployment.

The inhabitants of the county pelted the "prime minister" with eggs and water bottles, chanting such slogans as "We protest against THAAD deployment at the risk of our lives", the media noted, adding:

When the visitors tried to leave, the inhabitants encircled them and a man drove a tractor to block them.
