S. Koreans Demand Retraction of THAAD Deployment Decision

Pyongyang, July 20 (KCNA) -- The "National Measure Council for Opposing the Deployment of THAAD" in south Korea held a press conference in Seoul on Monday demanding the retraction of the THAAD deployment decision, according to the south Korean paper Nodong and Segye.

At the conference the speakers blamed Park Geun Hye for provoking the residents of Songju County by crying out for ending unnecessary dispute over THAAD and suppressing their protest against its deployment.

If THAAD is deployed, south Korea will turn into an outpost for defending the U.S. and Japan, they noted.

Deploring that the burden of upkeep of U.S. forces to be shouldered by south Korea will also snowball, they urged the "National Assembly" to proactively work for getting the decision retracted.
