On the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Syrian Arab Republic and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on July 25, 1966, I extend heartfelt and warmest congratulations to Your Excellency and your friendly people on behalf of the Syrian Arab people and on my own behalf and wish Your Excellency good health and happiness and steady success in your work and your people bigger progress and prosperity.

Thanks to the common efforts of the leadership of our two countries, the bilateral relations of friendship and cooperation have very satisfactorily developed in various fields since the establishment of official diplomatic relations.

The upheaval of the international situation and big challenges our two countries have faced over the past 50 years, in particular, have been factors of verifying the solidity of the bilateral relations but our two countries adhering to the common principle have successfully overcome these difficulties, thus further confirming the justice of the struggle against the imperialists' moves for aggression and contributing to achieving global peace.

On this significant occasion, I once again extend my heartfelt congratulations to Your Excellency and express belief that the bonds of historic friendship existing between our two countries will continue to grow stronger on the principle of mutual respect and equality, cooperation and solidarity among countries which value the protection of interests of the whole mankind.
