Broad-gauge Railway Project Progresses Apace in DPRK

| Pyongyang, July 20 (KCNA) -- The construction of Hyesan-Samjiyon broad-gauge railway has been rapidly carried out in the northern mountainous area of the DPRK. Its first-stage project is now in progress at over 70 percent. The builders succeeded in blasting 25 million ton earth and completed railroad beds. Successes have also been witnessed in extending and coating a railway tunnel, the longest one in the section. Meanwhile, measures have been taken to prevent flood damage during the rainy season. |
