National Sci-Tech Presentation in Field of Turf Held

Pyongyang. July 21 (KCNA) -- A national sci-tech presentation in the field of turf was held at the Turf Institute of the State Academy of Sciences on July 20 and 21 under the sponsorship of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea.

Present there were officials, scientists, technicians, teachers and graduate students of Kim Il Sung University, the Turf Institute of the State Academy of Sciences, the Haeju Turf Institute, Wonsan University of Agriculture and other units.

The participants heard more than 30 valuable papers on breeding new species of turf which remains green all the year round and strong in resistance and creating lawn and manuring and cultivating it.

There took place a lecture on technical problems in creating and tending lawn in the rainy season and on preventing damage by harmful insects.
