Nature Museum and Central Zoo Completed
Pyongyang, July 24 (KCNA) -- The Nature Museum and the Central Zoo were successfully completed.

The Nature Museum covering more than 35 000 square meters is a modern mass educational and science research and dissemination base and leisure complex as it has the Space Hall, Paleozoic Era Hall, Mesozoic Era Hall, Cenozoic Era Hall, Animals Hall, Plants Hall, Gifts Hall, E-Library and Sci-tech Disseminating Room.

More than 40 animal sheds such as the Shed of Reptiles, Shed of Monkeys, Shed of Beasts, Shed of Elephants, Shed of Giraffes and Shed of Small Horses have been modernly built to match the surrounding scenery. Visitors can easily guess from distance what animals they house.

An inaugural ceremony took place on Sunday.

Present at the ceremony were Pak Pong Ju, Choe Thae Bok, O Su Yong, Ro Tu Chol, Kim Su Gil, officials of the party and armed forces organs, ministries and national institutions and officials and builders of the Korean People's Army units and public units who contributed to remodeling the zoo, officials and workers of institutions and industrial establishments and school youth and children in Pyongyang and the chief of the Pyongyang mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front and overseas compatriots.

Present there on invitation were foreign diplomatic envoys, representatives of international bodies here and military attaches and their wives, embassy officials and other foreign guests.

Premier of the DPRK Pak Pong Ju, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the WPK, in his address said that the successful construction of the Nature Museum and the Central Zoo was the fruition of the wise leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un who is devoting his all to the work for providing the people with the world-level base for cultural and leisure activities.

The inaugural tape was cut by representatives of builders in the army and public units, persons of merits, university students and secondary school students.

At the end of the ceremony the participants went round the Nature Museum and the Central Zoo.
