The crimes they committed against the Korean nation include the fabrication of "Jongmi Seven-Point Treaty".

The Japanese imperialists faked the "Ulsa (1905) Five-point Treaty" to deprive the Feudal Joson Dynasty (1932-1910) of its diplomatic right and enforced the resident-general rule over Korea. In order to hold Korea in political bondage, they hatched a plot to make Emperor Kojong, who had got anti-Japanese sentiment, step down from the throne.

Under the pretext of "guarding" the royal palace, the Japanese imperialists put a ban on the palace to keep the emperor in custody. In May 1907, they dissolved the former Cabinet and rigged up a pro-Japanese Cabinet to cut down the power of the emperor and enlarge the authority of the Cabinet.

Emperor Kojong tried to restore the national rights with the help of the world powers and thereby sent emissaries to the 2nd International Peace Conference held in Hague to make public the illegality and invalidity of "Ulsa Five-point Treaty" and injustice of Japan's colonial rule over Korea.

Availing themselves of the emissary incident, the Japanese imperialists decided the "policy toward Korea" aiming at dethroning Kojong and seizing Korea's right of home administration and entrusted its implementation to Hirobumi Ito, the ringleader of aggression upon Korea.

When meeting Emperor Kojong, Hirobumi Ito pulled up the emperor over the dispatch of emissaries to Hague, branding it as a hostile act against Japan and violation of "agreement". And Ito instigated pro-Japanese stooges to forcibly dethrone Kojong and forced them to accept the already worked-out "draft treaty".

On July 24, 1907, the draft was submitted to and railroaded through the pro-Japanese Cabinet.

The "treaty" consisted of seven provisions pointed out that the Japanese "resident-general" will superintend the Feudal Joson Dynasty in its "improvement of administrative policy", important administrative measures like enactment should be approved by the "resident-general", high-ranking officials could not be appointed or dismissed without permission of the "resident-general" and any Japanese recommended by the "resident-general" should be appointed as a government official.

As seen above, the "Jongmi Seven-Point Treaty" is an illegal and invalid "document" unilaterally fabricated and coercively concluded by means of tricks and plots from every point of view.
