The publishing house founded on July 25, Juche 35 (1946) has developed into a powerful art and literature publishing base of the Workers' Party of Korea under the guidance of the peerlessly great men of Mt. Paektu over the past seven decades.

After the liberation of the country, President Kim Il Sung gave an important instruction that the publishing house should make a positive contribution to creating the national culture by issuing a lot of revolutionary art and literature publications, important ideological and educational means of the party, reading the magazine "Cultural Front", the first publication of the country's art and literature, and guided the work of the publishing house.

Leader Kim Jong Il gave instructions on publishing a lot of art and literature works loved by the people while visiting the publishing house several times and clearly indicated the orientation and ways to be taken by it in his works.

The publishing house has made positive contributions to educating the people about the greatness of the peerlessly great men of Mt. Paektu by editing and publishing a series of full-length novels introducing their revolutionary history and books on their noble virtues and memoirs dealing with their exploits.

A meeting took place at the People's Palace of Culture Monday to mark the anniversary.
