Displayed at the venue of the event were photos dealing with exploits of Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un.

Juan Jose Leon Vega, first vice-chairman of the Cuban Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification, said that the Fatherland Liberation War ended with a shining victory of the Korean people thanks to the wise leadership of Kim Il Sung, and the DPRK became the country of heroes who defeated the U.S. imperialists for the first time in history.

He went on:

But Korea has been divided into the north and the south.

Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, the great leaders of the Korean people, devoted their all to the reunification of Korea till the last moments of their lives and Kim Jong Un is making indefatigable efforts to accomplish the cause of the reunification.

Today, the U.S. is resorting to the sanctions against the DPRK while talking about its non-existent "human rights issue". It is also pushing the situation to the brink of war while bringing nuclear strategic hardware into south Korea.

We are sure that the heroic Korean people will resolutely smash the U.S. imperialists' moves and win a victory as they did in the 1950s.

We will in the future, too, fully support the Korean people in their struggle for accomplishing the independent and peaceful reunification of the country.
