Art Performance Given by KPA Song and Dance Ensemble
Pyongyang, July 27 (KCNA) -- An art performance was given by the Korean People's Army (KPA) Song and Dance Ensemble at the Ponghwa Art Theatre Wednesday, the 63rd anniversary of the victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War.

Among the audience were Kim Yong Nam, Pak Pong Ju and other senior party, state and army officials, the chairperson of a friendly party, officials of party and armed forces organs, the Cabinet, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions and officials of institutions, industrial establishments and universities, persons of merits and youths and students in Pyongyang.

Present there on invitation were overseas Koreans, the chief of the Pyongyang mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front, diplomatic envoys and representatives of international bodies here and their wives, military attaches and their wives and other foreign guests.

The performance began with overture "July 27 March" and "Song of Proud Guards Units". Put on the stage were colorful numbers such as male solo "In Three Years of War" and chorus "Cantata to Marshal Kim Il Sung" and "Respects to Victors of Great Age."

The performers sang high praises of the Songun revolutionary feats of Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

They presented artistic depiction of the war victory won by the Korean people by safeguarding the dignity and honor of the country at the risk of their lives and recording the ever-victorious heroic epic in the stern tempest of history.

Women's vocal sextet "Our Dear Marshal", chorus "Revolutionary Armed Forces Upholds Leadership of Marshal Only" and other numbers truthfully represented the spirit of the servicepersons and people of the DPRK to glorify the history and tradition of war victory and bring earlier the final victory in confrontation with the U.S. and building of a powerful socialist country under the guidance of Marshal Kim Jong Un.
