Involved in the maneuver were artillery pieces, missiles, helicopter gun ships, etc. of the 6th Brigade of Navy of the south Korean puppet army on the Paekryong Island and units on the Yonphyong Island.

They fired more than 1 500 shells and missiles under the pretence of getting familiar with the order of counteraction with "the north's provocation and surprise infiltration" and "armed conflict" in the West Sea.
