Overseas Side Preparatory Committee for Joint Conference for Peace and Independent Reunification Formed

| Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) -- The overseas side preparatory committee for the joint conference of political parties, organizations and individual personages of the north, the south and abroad for peace and independent reunification of the Korean peninsula was formed on July 27, according to a notice of the north side preparatory committee for the joint conference on July 29. The overseas side preparatory committee groups overseas regional preparatory committees. It decided to expand the preparatory committee by steadily accepting organizations and personages hoping for taking part in the joint conference in the future. In an inaugural declaration it said that the proposal for the joint conference is a very positive and realistic one for improving the frozen north-south relations and opening up a fresh phase for independent reunification, expressing the will to make positive efforts to successfully hold the great national conference. Meanwhile, the Oceanian regional preparatory committee for the joint conference was formed on July 24. |
